9 Things Oodles Secretly Love About Their Dog Dads

Father’s Day is just around the corner, and while your human kids might be busy making macaroni art, us oodles have our own reasons for celebrating our dog dads. We might not be able to write a card (paws are terrible with pens), but we can absolutely spill the beans on why dog dads are the best. (warning: mums you wont like this post)

So here are 9 things we secretly love about our dads (even if we pretend to prefer Mum sometimes).

  1. Dad’s “Terrible” Singing Voice

Car rides with Dad = live concerts. He belts out songs like he’s auditioning for The Voice… except he’s way off key. Do we care? Nope. We wag our tails harder.

  1. The Sneaky Treat Handouts

“Don’t tell Mum” is Dad’s catchphrase as he slips us chips, sausage, or that last bite of toast. Spoiler: Mum always knows. Spoiler #2: we don’t care.

  1. Rough & Tumble Playtime

Mums throw the ball. Dads launch it like a rocket. Mums say “settle down.” Dads say “zoomies time!” Who do you think we’re siding with?

  1. The “Bad Influence” Walks

Mum walks are structured. Heels, sit, tidy leash. Dad walks? A sniff-fest, squirrel chase, and meet-and-greet with the whole neighbourhood. Our favourite kind of chaos.

  1. Dad’s Questionable Fashion Choices

Trackies. Flannelette shirts. Socks with slides. We don’t judge,  it means Dad is dressed perfectly for snuggles on the couch.

  1. The Best Nap Buddy

Dad snores like a freight train, but that’s just white noise to us. Plus, once he’s asleep, he doesn’t move which equals prime lap real estate secured!

  1. Road Trip Adventures

Mum calls it “just a quick trip to Bunnings.” Dad calls it “a car ride!” Windows down, ears flapping, tongue out. Every errand feels like a holiday.

  1. Letting Us Break the Rules

Mum: “No dogs on the bed.”
Dad: “Oh, just this once.”
Reality: every night. Thanks, Dad.

  1. Dad’s Secret Language

From “Sir Wigglebottom” to “Fluff Nugget,” Dad gives us nicknames that make zero sense but make our tails wag every time.

So this Father’s Day, let’s raise a paw to our dog dads, the rule-breakers, treat-sneakers, nap buddies, and walk-enablers we absolutely adore. We might not be able to buy them socks or mugs, but we’ve got endless love, licks, and loyalty to give.

Happy Dog Dads’ Day!

And don’t forget to acknowledge Dad with his own special card
