Dog Daycare & Dog Boarding FAQs: Everything You Need to Know Before Booking
Leaving your dog in someone else’s care is a big decision.
Whether you’re heading off on holiday, working long hours, or simply looking for a safe and fun place for your dog to spend the day, it’s completely normal to have questions before making a booking.
At 3 Spoilt Dogs, we believe there are no silly questions. In fact, we’d much rather you ask! We know how important your dog is to you because that’s exactly how we feel about every dog who walks through our door.
Here are some of the questions we’re asked most often and what you need to know before your dog’s first stay with us.
How far in advance should I book?
The earlier, the better.
School holidays, Easter, Christmas and long weekends are our busiest times and often book out months in advance. If you’re planning a holiday, it’s worth securing your dog’s stay as soon as your travel dates are confirmed.
Need a last-minute booking? It’s always worth asking. Outside of peak periods, we often have availability for daycare and overnight stays.
Do you provide dog food?
We ask that you bring your dog’s regular food with them.
Keeping dogs on their normal diet helps avoid upset stomachs and makes them feel more settled while they’re away from home. It also means fussy eaters are much more likely to continue eating normally.
If you’d prefer, we can also prepare fresh homemade meals during your dog’s stay for an additional fee. Here is our Pawriffic Menu.
What happens if my dog gets sick?
Your dog’s wellbeing is always our highest priority.
If we notice anything unusual, we’ll contact you immediately to discuss what’s happening. If veterinary care is needed, we’ll take your dog to our local vet or the emergency vet if it’s outside normal hours.
We’ll keep you updated throughout the process so you can make informed decisions about your dog’s care. We also recommend pet insurance for extra peace of mind.
Do you offer discounts for longer stays?
Yes we do and have different rates for longer stays however the discount is smaller in high demand periods
Every dog receives the same personalised attention, enrichment, supervision and love whether they’re staying for one night or several weeks. Looking after dogs properly takes the same level of commitment every single day, and we never compromise on the quality of care. Find our rates here.
What should my dog bring?
Packing is easy. We recommend bringing:
- Their regular food
- Any medications with clear instructions
- Favourite treats (if you’d like)
- Comfort items if they help your dog settle
We’ll take care of the rest.
Will my dog fit in?
We specialise exclusively in Oodles and small dogs.
That means your dog will be surrounded by friends of a similar size and play style in a safe, home environment rather than a large commercial kennel. Many nervous or first-time guests settle much faster because of our calm environment and carefully matched groups.
What makes 3 Spoilt Dogs different?
We’re not a kennel. We’re a boutique home-away-from-home where dogs become part of the family.
Our guests enjoy:
- Playing with compatible dogs
- Plenty of supervised play and enrichment
- Comfortable spaces to rest
- Daily cuddles and attention
- Regular photo and video updates for pawrents
- A safe environment designed especially for Oodles and small dogs
- Hanging in the poolside cabana (supervised)
- Home made dog treats
We genuinely get to know every dog’s personality, routine and little quirks so they feel comfortable from the moment they arrive.
