The Ultimate Pooch Packing List
When you’re heading off on holiday and your four-legged pooch is lucky enough to come with you, make sure they are well-catered for. If you are going to the beach, you’ll need a few more things, but make sure you consider what they need in the car and at your destination.
In the car
- Water bowl
- Fresh water
- Couple of treats
- Harness to keep them safely secure
- Lead for when you get out
At your destination
- Dog bowl
- 2 water bowls (inside and outside)
- Sleeping bed
- Casual day bed
- Dog food
- Esky for any frozen or cold food, if needed
- Treats
- Long lead (for beach walks)
- Dog towels to dry them off
- A dog lead screw to hold on the beach
- Sun shirt for beach holidays
- SunShade or umbrella to keep them cool
- Tshirts or PJ’s (if that is their normal)
- Any medications they require
- Toys to keep them entertained
- Make sure their collar has your number on it, in case they get lost
- Pet first aid kit
- Number for local emergency vet
Yes, it feels like you are packing so much and just like kids they need to have all their stuff to make them a comfy and happy pooch.
When we head off to Woodgate each year for our pre-Xmas holiday, it feels like half the car is stuff for the dogs but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
